Bachelor's of Science in Education- Dalton State College 2009

Master's of Arts in Mathematics - Piedmont College 2014

I started my working career with my father at Leonard & Associates Real Estate Appraisal Firm. I worked for him during high school and college. I drew commercial and residential properties, prepared real estate reports, and read and communicated semantic drawings. I thought I wanted to be an architect, but I quickly changed my mind after training new hires. I really enjoyed teaching people new things. After I graduated from Dalton State College, now known as Dalton State, I had the opportunity to serve as the AmeriCorps VISTA in the office of Student Life. I assisted the Civic Engagement and Service Learning Coordinator with organizing fun and engaging activities on and off campus that revolved around volunteering in the community and on campus. Eventually, I landed my 1st teaching job in middle school in Whitfield County where I taught math and science. While obtaining my Master's degree, I decided to apply and interview with Gordon County after being told how great and hard working the students are from various professors...and here I am. Ashworth Middle School has great students and fantastic teachers and staff members.

I enjoy teaching middle school. I think the students have a very unique personality at this age. I am certified in both math and science. I enjoy teaching both content areas. I have taught 6th and 7th grade math and science, 8th grade science. I am very excited about the opportunity to return to teaching 6th grade this year. I am originally from the Ringgold area where I live with my very, old dog - a pug named Lillianne.
