I graduated from Gordon Central High School in 1996.  I then decided to pursue a career in education.  I graduated from the State University of West Georgia in 2001 with my bachelor's degree in Special Education:  Mental Retardation.  After my first year of teaching, I decided to obtain my master's degree in Special Education:  Interrelated from the University of West Georgia.  I graduated with it in 2005. 


I have been teaching for 17 years.  I have taught 7th grade ESS at Ashworth Middle School since I started teaching.  I have been lead ESS teacher for 12 years.  I coteach 7th grade Math with Janice Mosley. 

I am looking foward to another great year at AMS!  Go Warriors!!


My name is Shannon Wheat-Wyatt.  I have always lived in Gordon County and attended Gordon County Schools.  I live in Resaca with my husband, Nathan, and our two children, Ryan and Rylan.  My husband is an electrician at AstroTurf, and he is a councilman for the Town of Resaca.  My son, Ryan, is 20 years old, and he works for the City of Calhoun in the Water Department.  My daughter, Rylan, is 4 years old, and she started PreK at Tolbert, and she loves it.  I enjoy reading, taking pictures, and spending time with my family.
