I am a proud graduate of Gordon County Schools!  I attended Belwood, Ashworth, and Gordon Central High school, where I graduated in 2001.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree from Kennesaw State University in Secondary English Education.  I also obtained a Masters of Educational Leadership degree from Kennesaw State and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2009.  My most recent degree was my Educational Specialist in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College.  I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2012.  This past year I completed my Reading Endorsement through NW GA RESA!!  I am certified and highly qualified to teach Pre-K- 12th grades in a variety of subject areas. 


I have been teaching for eleven  years.  My first year and a half of teaching took place at Dobbins Middle School in Paulding County, GA.  I was Sally Mae First Teacher of the Year in 2006.  I have taught ten years here at Ashworth Middle School.   Seven years have been in 7th grade ELA, and this is my third year with eighth grade ELA!!  I completed in the Gordon County Leadership Exploration in December 2012.


Husband: Bartt Gilreath

Child: Ella Beth Gilreath.  She just turned seven and is the light of our lives! She is in first this year!!

Hobbies: Reading, shopping, watching movies, watching SEC football, playing with my little girl, traveling and spending time with my husband.

Favorite author: Suzanne Collins, Jerry Spinneli, and Louis Sachar!

Pet: Chloe, a rescued toy poodle!
