Tatum 6th Grade ELA

I graduated in August 2014 with my Specialist of Education from The University of Georgia, with emphasis in middle grades education.  I received my Master of Arts degree in 2011 from Piedmont College, majoring in middle grades language arts.  In 2008, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Education at The University of Georgia, with concentrations in middle grades language arts and social studies.

This is currently my seventh year in the teaching profession, with all seven years being served here at Ashworth.  I have taught sixth grade language arts for the past six years, and I previously taught eighth grade language arts and science.  I also currently coach track and field, as well as girls' basketball as an assistant.  I believe that all students have something to contribute to our school community, and it is my goal to ensure that students are motivated to learn and to achieve as much as they can each day.

I grew up in Cartersville, Georgia and am a 2004 graduate of Cass High School.  I have two rescue dogs, Chaco and Mac, and one rescue cat, Scout.  When I'm not teaching or coaching, I enjoy running, reading, watching sports, trying out new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.
