  1. Any 8th grader interested in participating in the next fundraiser please see Mrs. Jackson to get forms. All money and forms are due February 22nd. 
  2.  It’s FFA Week!  Look for question of the day.  Submit your answer during lunch. You could win a prize.  Today is crazy hair and sock day and tomorrow will be boots day!  Come on and show your spirit. 
  3. School Governance Council will have a meeting today, Wednesday, February 15th at 4 PM in the ISS room.  Everyone is invited to attend. 
  4. Tryouts for the GCHS cheer program continues through Thursday from 3:45-5:30. See Coach Lingle for a try out packet. You must have a current physical by the first day of tryouts to participate.  
  5. If you signed up for Track and Field with Ms. Tatum tryouts are as follows: 8th grade will try outs are today, 7th grade on Thursday, February 16th and 6th grade on Friday, February 17. Practices will be held from 3:30-5:15 at GC track. Wear weather appropriate clothing, running shoes and bring a water bottle. Make sure your ride picks you up at GC track by 5:15.   You must have all forms and current physical on file to be able to try out.  
  6. The book fair is here.  You can come in anytime between 8 AM and 3:30 PM but bring a pass.  7th  grades class will come in today and 8th grade classes will come in on Friday.   So, gather your dollars come get a whole new adventure.  
  7. Has your team practicing for the Annual Warrior Pride Dodgeball Tournament which will be held Saturday, February 25th? Come join in the fun it all starts at 9:30 in the morning in the main gym at Gordon Central. 
  8. Girls are you interested in pageants?  This Miss Ashworth Pageant will be held March 7th, 6:00 PM @ the GCHS practice gym.  See Ms. Lingle on the 7th grade hall for a packet. 
  9. Attention all students going on the Jekyll Island Field Trip: Fundraising forms and money are due Wednesday, February 15th.  Please make sure you get those items turned in to your homeroom teacher ASAP.  Students who are on Payment Plan 1, have a payment that is due this week. 
  10. Congratulations to Jhaylan Jones for being our Tuesday FFA question of the day winner.  Go by Mrs. Wyatt's room for your prize.  What are the official colors of FFA?  National blue and corn gold.  Look for today's question at lunch today. Thursday is boots day, so make sure to dig out your boots to wear tomorrow.  Also, congratulations to Ms. Mathis for winning our teacher competition.  She correctly answered that the Smith Hughes Act of 1917 was the start of Agriculture education.
