AMS Landscaping Club

We have developed the AMS Landscaping Club so students may be involved in beautifying our school grounds while learning more about landscaping plants. We meet twice monthly from 3:30-5:00 in Mrs. Fox’s room (#5 on the 7th grade hall). Often, we may meet for projects and activities in the library courtyard. We will plan to meet most second and fourth Thursdays of the month when school is in session.

Any student at Ashworth Middle School from 6th-8th grade is invited to be a part of the Landscaping Club. We will be involved in classroom learning and outdoor activities throughout the school year in all seasons, so students should dress appropriately for the weather.

There is no cost to belong to the club. Students may want to bring their own pair of sturdy gardening gloves or work gloves. If students cannot afford gloves, we provide gloves.

We could possibly have guest speakers throughout the year to provide students with new learning opportunities and experiences. These events will occur on the AMS campus during regular meetings.

We would like to plan a field trip for a Saturday in the spring to a botanical garden or nature museum. AMS Landscaping Club members will be participating in one or two fundraisers this year so they can earn money toward the trip. If our fundraiser is a huge success, we will spend any extra money we earn on plants to beautify our school yard.

We hope your child will enjoy this opportunity. If you have any questions, feel free to call Mrs. Fox at 706-625-9545, ext. 4421.
